Hydrocell Showcases Maritime Hydrogen Innovations at Salone Nautico Venezia

Bolzano, Italy – June 24, 2024 Hydrocell, a pioneering company in the hydrogen sector, recently made a significant impact at the Salone Nautico Venezia, held from May 29 to June 2, 2024. The event, set against the picturesque backdrop of Venice, focused on innovations in the maritime sector, with a special emphasis on sustainable technologies. Hydrocell proudly presented its cutting-edge hydrogen solutions at the fair, highlighting its commitment to promote the use of hydrogen maritime propulsion.



At the Hydrocell stand, attendees were introduced to the company’s latest projects and products, including the groundbreaking refit of the 17-meter-long boat “Nobody’s Perfect.” Originally built in Bordeaux in 1978, this vessel is being retrofitted with the first hydrogen propulsion system managed by Hydrocell’s proprietary control unit. This innovation highlights Hydrocell’s leadership in integrating hydrogen technology into the maritime industry.

A key highlight was Hydrocell’s integrated and modular control unit for hydrogen and electric propulsion systems, designed specifically for maritime applications. The HYMAR control unit, a state-of-the-art technology developed by Hydrocell, can seamlessly integrate various propulsion systems, ensuring optimal performance and adaptability. This system underscores the potential of hydrogen as a sustainable fuel alternative for the maritime sector.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Hydrocell CEO Karl Manfredi stated, “Our participation at the Salone Nautico Venezia was a remarkable achievement. Hydrocell’s presence at the fair attracted numerous professionals keen to explore hydrogen’s potential in maritime propulsion. The event provided an excellent platform for networking and knowledge exchange, further solidifying Hydrocell’s position as a leader in the hydrogen sector.

Building on this momentum, Hydrocell is set to participate in the Hydrogen Expo in Piacenza from September 11-13, 2024, and the Salone Nautico di Puglia in Brindisi from October 9-14, 2024. These events will continue to showcase Hydrocell’s advancements and foster collaborations aimed at promoting sustainable maritime transportation.
